Corrections & Standards
Being first matters. Being right matters more. This page explains how Patriot Watch verifies what it publishes, what our verification tiers mean, and exactly how to get an error fixed.
What we publish
Patriot Watch is a news aggregator with a verification layer. Every headline links out to the original reporting at the outlet that wrote it — we don't republish third-party article text, and we don't rewrite other people's work. What we add is judgment: which stories matter, how well they're sourced, and how widely they're being covered.
The verification tiers
Our watch desk continuously monitors dozens of conservative, independent, wire, and mainstream feeds around the clock. Every developing story is cross-referenced across those sources before it's elevated, and carries one of three tiers wherever it appears:
- Watching — a single-source report. We're tracking it, but it has not yet been independently corroborated. Treat it as unconfirmed.
- Corroborated — reported by at least two independent outlets.
- Confirmed — reported independently by wire/mainstream and conservative outlets.
Breaking signals must pass this gating before they're promoted to the front page or our social feeds. A splash headline is reviewed by an editor before it runs. We'd rather be right a few minutes later than wrong first.
Automation, honestly disclosed
The around-the-clock monitoring that powers Patriot Watch is automated — software watches the feeds, clusters coverage, and computes the tiers deterministically from how many independent outlets are reporting a story. Editorial control stays human: a person sets the standards, reviews breaking promotions, and answers for every correction on this page.
Corrections policy
When we get something wrong — a mischaracterized headline, a story elevated above what its sourcing supported, a broken attribution — we fix it, promptly and visibly:
- Errors are corrected as soon as they're verified, typically within hours of a report.
- A corrected story page notes what changed. We don't quietly memory-hole mistakes.
- If a story we elevated is retracted or debunked at the source, we pull or re-tier it and say why.
Note that headlines on Patriot Watch link to outside outlets. If the error is in the underlying article, the correction belongs to that outlet — but if their story collapses, our elevation of it is our responsibility, and we'll act on it.
Report an error
See something wrong? Email info@patriotwatch.news with the subject line "Correction" and a link to the page. Corrections reports go straight to the editor and are reviewed the same day whenever possible.
Independence
Patriot Watch is independently operated and answers to no media conglomerate. Advertising and affiliate relationships never influence what we cover or how we tier it — see our full disclosure.
