How We Verify Every Story
Most news sites ask you to trust a headline. Patriot Watch shows you how many independent outlets are actually reporting it, names every one of them, and labels the story accordingly. You can check our work before you believe us.
The problem this solves
A story breaks. It races across social media. By the time you see it, twenty accounts have repeated it and not one has told you where it came from or whether anybody else confirmed it. Half the time it holds up. The other half, you find out days later it never did.
Our answer is simple: never publish a claim without also publishing its evidence. Every developing story on Patriot Watch carries a source count and a verification tier, and every headline links out to the newsroom that reported it.
The three tiers
- Confirmed A wire or mainstream outlet and conservative outlets are both carrying it, or three or more independent sources are. First-party government and court sources count as primary evidence here.
- Corroborated At least two independent newsrooms are reporting it.
- Watching A single source, or social chatter, that has not been independently corroborated. We show it, clearly labeled, and we do not lead with it.
How we count independent sources
The count only means something if it's honest, so two rules govern it. First, outlets count as independent only when they are genuinely separate newsrooms. Ten sites republishing the same wire story are one source, not ten. Second, the tier is computed by software from the actual coverage data, not assigned by an editor's gut or written by a language model. The math decides the ceiling.
Social media alone never leads
A claim circulating only on X, Telegram, or another social platform, with no wire or agency source behind it, cannot reach our front-page siren. It can appear in Live Intel labeled Watching, and that's all, until a real newsroom confirms it. That rule is enforced in code, not left to judgment.

Open any story page and you'll find the coverage map: every outlet reporting the story, when each one published, and a timeline of how the story developed. We link out to all of them. We don't republish their articles, and we don't ask you to take our word for it.
