⚖ The Constitutional Angle
Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona held that federal law preempts a state from demanding proof of citizenship beyond the sworn attestation on the federal registration form. Alaska's mailing to already-registered voters raises the separate question now pending in Republican National Committee v. Mi Familia Vota, so whether this program is lawful is unsettled.
